My dad was born in the 20s. So 8 basically had the same experiences your describing but in the 70s . Although old fashioned it was bags of fun. Always outside doing something And making do with what was at hand.. great podcast Ray. My favourite thing was I had a massive radio that took one of those Hugh red batteries. I’d nod off on the top bunk listening to local radio. Radio 4 and luxembourg.
