Toys, then and now.

Most toys back in the 50s were made of tin plate or wood. No plastic, no batteries! But they were great fun. In this episode, I look back at the toys we played with back then. Happy days!

Welcome to another Midweek Message. It's Wednesday and the sun is shining. How are you today? I'm fine, apart from my recent haircut. Or, should I say, hair hack!

Animals.

Children love animals. In the old days we had rabbits, tortoises, goldfish… It was good for kids to learn how to look after and respect animals. Recently, schoolchildren were asked where bacon comes from. They said, the supermarket. Should we be teaching children more about animals?

Leaving school and going out to work in the 1960s was very different to how things are these days. Few people went to university as most went into the workplace on apprenticeships. The school leaving age was 16. In this episode, I look back at the transition from school to work.
